Say Goodbye to Heartburn
Heartburn relief may be closer than you think without the pills through a new type of surgery through the mouth that can stop the heartburn for good. Dr. Snyder is the most experienced reflux surgeon in the Cypress, Texas area. He offers a "through the mouth" operation as well as robotic assisted approaches to fix this problem.
The transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) can recreate the valve at the upper stomach that normally keeps the acid in the stomach where it belongs. Most people with reflux disease have a weak valve. Even if they take a medication that can reduce the acid the stomach produces, this will not stomach the liquids or food from refluxing into the esophagus. This can cause irritation and inflammation of the bottom of the esophagus. In addition, if the reflux is severe enough, it can cause hoarseness, coughing, throat clearing, asthma, and aspiration to name a few of the laryngeal pharyngeal reflux symptoms. Worse yet, severe reflux, left untreated, can causes esophageal cancer.
If a person has a hernia where the esophagus and the stomach come together, the reflux can be made worse. If the hernia is large enough, then the TIF can only be done after the hernia is fixed through small abdominal incisions. Dr. Snyder is the most experienced robotic general surgeon in the cypress area and offers these two operations in combination to treat heartburn symptoms once and for all. No more pills, no more symptoms, no more worries.
If any damage has been caused to the lower esophagus or if pre-cancerous lesions are found there, Dr. Snyder is able to treat this before surgery. His Texas Medical Center experience provides comprehensive endoscopic and surgical treatment to the most complex reflux problems with private practice service.
