Dr. Snyder has recently opened a time-share clinic in Cypress clinic from Memorial Hermann Memorial City.
“I have waited a long time to finally bring a part of my practice to Cypress,” said Dr. Snyder. “I live in Cypress, and I am very excited to finally serve my community.” Dr. Snyder is an advanced minimally invasive surgery and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. He specializes in metabolic (also known as bariatric) surgery and anti-reflux surgery, treating these diseases with surgery that use the smallest incisions possible. “For most surgeries,” he reports, “I use the Da Vinci robot system. It gives me the ability to do more complex operations through smaller incisions with fewer complications.”
The Cypress area has been growing exponentially in the last decade and so has its medical needs. For a long time, North Cypress Medical Center was the only hospital in the area, but now Memorial Hermann is opening a hospital off of 290. Both facilities will offer robotic surgery. In addition, Memorial Hermann Memorial City and Memorial Hermann Katy have the Da Vinci robot system.
“I have privileges at all of these hospitals because they have robotics, and I want to serve the area I live in by offering this technology. That is why I say I offer, ‘Texas Medical Center Excellence, Private Practice Service’.” Most of Dr. Snyder’s practice is at Memorial Herman Texas Medical Center where he has a full time, busy surgery practice, trains residents and fellows, and teaches students about the stomach and esophagus. “My practice in the Cypress area will be very different than my practice in the Medical Center. It is nice to teach, but it is also nice to operate on my own sometimes,” Dr. Snyder said with a grin.
